The hero: Bioactive Silk Peptides

At the heart of Kintsu is a bioactive silk peptide, included at 0.5% concentration. This is a therapeutic dose designed to genuinely support your skin's natural regeneration.

Ordinary silk peptides sit on your skin and provide temporary softness. Bioactive silk peptides work differently. They actively signal your skin to increase its own natural regeneration processes. Old, damaged skin cells are replaced with new, healthier ones more efficiently.

Bioactive silk peptides also support the natural production of three of your skin's most important protective proteins.

Filaggrin for hydration and moisture retention.
Claudin for skin barrier integrity.
Involucrin for skin elasticity and firmness.

Formulated without:

Fragrance and essential oils. Two of the most common triggers for reactive skin. Kintsu smells like the ingredients that make it, gentle and neutral, because that's how it should be.

Silicones. No dimethicone. No cyclopentasiloxane. No silicone-derived slip. Silicones create a false feeling of smoothness while forming a barrier that traps whatever is beneath them. Kintsu's texture comes from real ingredients that your skin can breathe through.

Harsh preservatives. No parabens. No formaldehyde-releasing preservatives. Kintsu is preserved with sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate, both naturally derived and gentle enough for reactive skin. This preservation system keeps Kintsu safe for use without compromising your skin barrier.

Sulfates. No SLS or SLES. Common irritants for sensitive skin.

Mineral oil and petrochemicals. Not in Kintsu. Never in any AFA product. Formulated instead with plant-derived oils and naturally sourced ingredients.

Synthetic dyes and unnecessary colorants. Kintsu is naturally white because that's the natural colour of the emulsion. No dyes added for aesthetic effect.

Kintsu is designed to be applied after your serum and before your facial oil. It works best when your skin is prepared and slightly damp.

Morning routine

Cleanse gently with NAKeD Cleansing Oil or your usual gentle cleanser.
Apply Aura Skin Reset Concentrate onto slightly damp skin. Press in gently.
Warm a pea-sized amount of Kintsu between clean fingertips.
Press into your face and neck, moving upward and outward.
Follow with Rose Glow Elixir. Warm 2-3 drops between your palms and press over Kintsu to seal.
Finish with sunscreen. Always.

Evening routine

Double cleanse with NAKeD Cleansing Oil followed by a gentle water-based cleanser if needed.
Apply Aura Skin Reset Concentrate onto slightly damp skin.
Warm a pea-sized amount of Kintsu between clean fingertips.
Press into your face and neck.
Finish with Rose Glow Elixir. Warm 2-3 drops between your palms and press over Kintsu to seal in everything beneath it.

How much to use

Start with a pea-sized amount of Kintsu. It is concentrated and a little goes a long way. If your skin feels particularly dry, you can layer a second thin layer of Kintsu 10-15 minutes after the first.

For Rose Glow, use 2-3 drops warmed between your palms. Press into skin. Do not rub.

Where to apply

Face, neck, and décolletage. Kintsu is safe for the delicate skin around the eyes if you find your under-eye area needs extra care. Avoid direct contact with the inner eye and lips.
